ANNOUNCEMENT: The Library of Congress has selected 25 films for the National Film Registry due to their cultural, historic or aesthetic importance to preserve the nation’s film heritage. The oldest inductee is an 1896 film titled “The Tramp and the Dog,” a silent film from Chicago's Selig Polyscope Company that is recognized as the first commercial film made in Chicago.
