I feel like a lawyer stating their case! I don’t know how many times I’ve seen jars that aren’t completely labeled! They sometimes have the year written on top, but not the contents. Some would argue that you can tell the contents easily enough because you can see through the glass. And I’ll give you that one. So it would be hard to not know the difference between green beans and potatoes. But some things are NOT that straight forward and it’s still a great practice to have: labeling and dating
