My brother-in-law restores vintage radios and TVs, and this one’s a favorite, a Zenith Chairside Radio Console, model 6S341, made in 1938 by Zenith Radio Corp. of Chicago. It has six vacuum tubes, AM and shortwave bands, and even a “police” band from the pre-WWII era. Designed to sit beside an armchair, it let listeners change stations without getting up.
