Can DCIS become "cancer" in 5 months? — Breastcancer.org
Oct 8, 2024 · Past and current situation. My wife, age 46, was diagnosed with stage zero DCIS 12 months ago. She received a lumpectomy (lab report showed all clear margins ( (bc. it was stage zero)) as well as no lymph involvement.) She received radiotherapy for about 2 months and decided against the 5 years of Tamoxifen offered to her.

Oct 1, 2023 · Hi all, I am newly diagnosed with DCIS and have had a few dismissive and unsupportive responses to the news from family and friends. Wondering if others may have also experienced this in regards to DCIS and how they have managed it please? While I understand DCIS may have very positive outcomes, it is still overwhelming and abit to process.

Jan 2020 - diagnosed with IDC ER, PR+, HER2- Grade 2 - KI67<5% - 2 tumors and one lymph node involved. Had a lumpectomy, 30 radiation treatments and been on tamoxifen faithfully ever since.

Got the horrible news and been on an emotional roller coaster ever since.diagnosis- DCIS right breast confirmed with biopsy. Tumor area spans almost 10mm so mastectomy is recommended. MRI showed invasion of 1.5.

DCIS, grade 2, crib form, solid, papillary and flat type, with lobular extension, focal necrosis, microcalcifications, and focal microinvasion. DCIS measures 2.1 cm and involves a papillary lesion. I am ER/PR + (not sure about HER2-not enough tissue), Ki-67 is 15%. I remember a feeling of overwhelming sadness for some time after learning the news.
