Sep 30, 2023 · As an Index owner, I just ordered Varjo Aero now that they have slashed its price to $990. It seems a much better upgrade path than the Quest 3 given I can re-use the Valve controllers and light houses. Eye tracking with foveated rendering will also be a huge plus, not to mention the slightly higher resolution panels that the Aero provides.

Aug 3, 2021 · Valve Index running fine for almost 2 years, and then one day had sparkles over whole screen. Not sure what changed, but this fix worked immediately (and without reboot). A+ fix for my system i7-9700, Nvidia RTX 2080 Super. Switched DP on graphics card made no difference in sparkles.

Jul 1, 2019 · I just got the Index today and have been playing some Arizona Sunshine and tried the Aperture Hand Lab. After reading all the talk about the bad blacks and/or contrast I was expecting it to be bad, but I'd say I'm positively surprised. The clarity is much better than imagined and the black levels really aren't that much worse than the CV1.
