Columbia University has shared a statement after Xie Hongzhuo, a 22-year-old student from Beijing, died in a tour bus crash in western New York.

A bus crash on I-90 near Pembroke, New York, killed five people, including a Columbia University student. The NTSB is investigating the cause, including driver actions and seatbelt use. The operating company has a history of failed inspections.

The others are Pinki Changrani, Zhang Xiaolan and Jian Mingli, from New Jersey, and Shankar Kumar Jha, of India; driver Bin Shao survived.
