The Pittsburgh Steelers' opponent for their upcoming abroad game this season has been revealed to be the Minnesota Vikings. The matchup will be the first NFL regular season matchup in Ireland, and the Steelers' second game against the Vikings abroad.

Several Steelers players have already visited historic Croke Park and look forward to playing in Ireland this fall

The Steelers have a long history with Ireland. The team played an exhibition game there in 1997 at Croke Park against the Chicago Bears. Also, the late Steelers president Dan Rooney served as ambassador to Ireland under the Obama Administration. The Rooneys are of Irish descent. The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi predicted the Steelers will face an NFC North opponent on Monday Night Football in Week 1.

The NFL announced on Tuesday that the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings will square off in Ireland on Sunday, Sept. 28. It will be the Steelers’ first trip overseas for a game in 12 seasons.
