A heroic 77-ball 94 from Richa Ghosh went in vain as Nadine de Klerk’s unbeaten 84 guided South Africa Women to a thrilling three-wicket victory over India in their ICC Women’s World Cup encounter on Thursday.

No disrespect to Bangladesh, where South Africa won their first series in the subcontinent in a decade last year and regarded it as their turning point in the WTC campaign, but critics wanted them to take on sterner challenges. The early results in Pakistan are less terrible than they could have been.

India continued their dominance over the West Indies as they swept them 2-0 in the home series after their Delhi win. India have now gone past South Africa in a historic list of a record after their victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

India clinched a decisive 7-wicket victory against the West Indies in the second Test at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday morning. The hosts, led by Shubman Gill, successfully chased down 121 runs in 35.

Pakistan will be up against South Africa in a two-match Test series, which marks the commencement of the respective campaigns for both teams in the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. South Africa are the Test champions and will be keen to begin the new cycle on a winning note.

Pakistan are hosting South Africa for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is, starting from October 12. The matches will be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Rawalpindi Cricket stadium and Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.
