A storm moving in for Friday and the weekend will bring wind and snow for a lot of the state, but the mountains could really see the snow pile up.

Freezing rain and significant icing was reported from the Plains all the way to the east coast. Up to .5” of ice was reported in areas like Louisville. This resulted in horrible driving conditions, many accidents, downed trees, downed power lines and power outages.

A significant winter storm will bring snow, ice, and travel hazards across Arkansas starting Thursday, with impacts lasting through Friday perhaps lingering into the weekend even after the storm has ended. Much of Missouri is under a hazardous weather outlook and state authorities have urged the public to avoid driving in icy and snowy conditions.

A low-pressure system is moving across the country, delivering rain, snow, and ice to much of the southeast. This same system will be making its way along the east coast early this weekend, bringing a chance for accumulating snow to the tri-state.

Freezing rain and snow was forecasted to move into the southern U.S. Wednesday, setting up days of bad weather from Texas to the U.S. East Coast.

A winter storm will continue to bring snow to parts of New Mexico through Thursday. Dangerously cold wind chills will continue into Wednesday morning. Snow has been falling across northern New Mexico since late last night,
