An inmate at a New York State prison has died on Saturday according to the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Services.

The 61-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell at Auburn Correctional Facility, one of dozens of state prisons where corrections officers have walked off the job over working conditions.

An inmate was found dead in his cell Saturday at the Auburn Correctional Facility, officials said. The inmate was identified as Jonathon Grant, 61, according to Thomas Mailey, a spokesperson for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
