Israeli airstrikes have hit Yemen’s capital, days after the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels fired what the Israeli military described as the first cluster bomb they've launched since 2023.

The Israeli strikes hit a facility owned by Yemen’s main oil company along with a power plant and a military site in an area where the presidential palace is located, according to the Houthis and Israel's military.

Four journalists were among at least 14 people killed in Israeli airstrikes as the Committee to Protect Journalists accuses Israel of targeting them to prevent information from leaving Gaza.

It is still far from clear when and if Netanyahu will finally give the order to move the operation forward on a large scale. It seems as if for weeks now, the world has been waiting for an imminent hostage exchange and ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas or an imminent invasion by the IDF of Gaza City (after multiple prior invasions).
