JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Three Palestinians were killed and scores more injured by an Israeli air strike in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday, the Palestinian Red Crescent said. The Israeli military said it had conducted a strike in the area of Jenin but did not give further details.

The Palestinian prime minister says it's unacceptable for any entity other than the Palestinian Authority to run the Gaza Strip in the future. Mohammad Mustafa made the comments Wednesday on a visit to Norway as Israel and Hamas appear to be at the closest point yet to sealing a deal to end 15 months of war.

The ban comes as the PA battles militants from Hamas and its allies for control over parts of the West Bank, a fight that could shape the struggle for leadership of the Palestinian cause.
