England captain Jos Buttler began the Brendon McCullum era with a solid and fighting fifty in the first T20I against India at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Despite Buttler's impressive knock of 68 off 44 balls, India's spinners were the scourge of England - just like in their last T20I in Guyana last year (6-58) - as they recorded figures of 5-67

While Buttler was the only Englishman to score 20-plus runs, only two other batters scored in double-figures.
