Regular Social Security retirement benefits for the month of July will be sent out on the SSA’s usual schedule: Wednesday, July 9: Birth dates between the first and 10th of the month. Wednesday, July 16: Birth dates between the 11th and 20th of the month.

In July, 50% of a person’s check will be withheld by the Social Security Administration if it issued an overpayment to them in the past. This effort is made through the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) which withholds the money until repayments are made.

Regular payments will continue on their standard schedule throughout July 2025. However, recipients who received overpayment notices beginning April 25, 2025, may see their payments reduced starting approximately July 24, 2025. The SSA provides a 90-day notice period between issuing overpayment notifications and beginning benefit withholding.
