Stray rats running around debris-filled streets or scampering down darkened alleyways may be associated with big cities and heavily-trafficked tourist destinations, but rodent problems can be found in cities all over the country — including in Tennessee.

The remainder of the top five most rodent-infested up there with Philadelphia were Washington, D.C. in fifth; Los Angeles, Calif. (third); San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, Calif., in second; and New York City, N.Y., in first.

It most likely won't come as a surprise to you that New York City came in at number one on this list. However, one Indiana city also made the cut. Indianapolis is the 19th most rodent-infested city in the nation. This is certainly not a list that Indianapolis wants to find itself on.
