Pennsylvania is working to fix an intermittent issue related to its 911 services that is currently affecting areas throughout the entire state.The issue was originally reported as a "statewide intermittent 911 outage" through a wireless emergency alert.

Pennsylvania's 911 emergency service lines are experiencing technical issues statewide, officials said Friday afternoon in an alert that went out to millions of Pennsylvania residents. A text message warning was sent out just before 3:30 p.m. advising residents that 911 calls may not connect due to intermittent outages. The cause was not explained.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency said that anyone having issues calling 911 to instead call the non-emergency lines for county 911 centers.
