Brendan Greene, the creator of Player Unkown Battle Grounds (PUBG) says his upcoming metaverse project “Artemis” may include blockchain tech, but he’s “not even thinking about” NFTs.

Brendan Greene, or "PlayerUnknown," kickstarted the battle royale craze with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Now, Greene has an even bigger goal, a metaverse, but not in the usual way.

The PUBG creator is aware that this is no small endeavor, and set a tentative 2040 target to account for the challenges that lie ahead. The term ' metaverse ' has been tainted by Facebook-turned-Meta's mediocre endeavor that cost its parent company $46 billion between 2021 and 2024, according to NASDAQ.
