Kelly Ripa revealed to guest 'Live with Kelly and Mark' co-host Andy Cohen that when she quit drinking in 2017 that she unexpectedly gained weight, and even revealed how much weight she gained at the time.

“I told you when I quit drinking, I expected there to be this windfall of weight loss,” Ripa explained to Cohen during the Jan. 22 show. “Because everybody’s like, ‘Well you are going to get too skinny, and you can’t blah blah blah.’ I gained 12 pounds. I don’t understand this ‘magical weight loss thing.’”
