Phone hacking trial opening delayed in London with rumors swirling of “enormous” last-minute offer for Harry to settle out of court.

Prince Harry has settled his lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch’s British tabloids. The prince has accepted damages and an apology from News Group Newspapers over years of phone hacking and other unlawful intrusion.

Rupert Murdoch ended a five-year battle with Prince Harry with a dramatic apology Wednesday for illegally intruding into his life for years—and made a “massive” settlement with the British royal to end an explosive court case.

The Duke of Sussex is poised to accuse The Sun of destroying millions of emails as a landmark phone-hacking case was delayed twice on Tuesday. Prince Harry, 40, will claim the newspaper deliberately deleted over 30 million emails to cover up alleged phone tapping carried out on himself and other public figures between 1996 and 2011.

Prince Harry’s trial against the publisher of The Sun has ended dramatically with an apology from the newspaper’s publisher for “serious intrusion” and unlawful activities over a 15-year period.
