Three-time world champion Max Verstappen was struck with a penalty by the FIA after swearing in a press conference on Thursday ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix

The Haas driver faced a one-race ban after accumulating 12 penalty points on his super license, with a pivotal incident occurring during the Italian Grand Prix, where he clashed with Pierre Gasly, leading to a 10-second penalty. Magnussen voiced his discontent and he told the media:

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was not a fan of recent comments made by FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem. Hamilton said that there was a "racial element" to the comments made by Sulayem when addressing the FIA's plans to crack down on drivers using profanity over their team radios.

The FIA wants the Formula One drivers to watch their language and asked Formula One Management to limit broadcasts with swearing. Some drivers, though, feel the sport’s governing body is being too sensitive.
