EHang's EH216-S autonomous electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) has completed its first test flight using solid-state lithium batteries.

EHang successfully completed the world's first solid-state battery test in a pilotless passenger-carrying eVTOL, boosting endurance to 48 minutes. Over the course of the past year, EHang and Inx have worked together to create several versions of the battery.

At the Launch Event of UAM Hub, High-Energy Solid-State Battery Technology Breakthrough and Hefei Low-Altitude Planning, EHang showcased a unedited, continuous flight video of the EH216-S equipped with the high-energy solid-state battery. This flight test was notarized by the Guangzhou Notary Office.

After receiving the world's first type certification a year ago and delivering dozens of aircraft for low-altitude tourism initiatives, China's EHang has become a de facto leader in the burgeoning eVTOL industry.
