With little available in free agency, the trade for John Gibson may not be enough for Detroit Red Wings to advance playoff hopes

The Detroit Red Wings made a series of depth signings Tuesday during the first day of free agency, players who’ll be competing for the last couple of roster spots or assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Red Wings inked defensemen Jacob Bernard-Docker and Ian Mitchell, as well as left wing John Leonard, all for one year.
