Apple stock could sell off after the company announces its iPhone 17 series smartphones next month, a Wall Street analyst said Monday.

Apple was sued - and ultimately settled - a major lawsuit after revelations that software updates were used to deliberately slow older iPhones. Apple argued the measure was meant to prevent unexpected shutdowns from aging batteries, but the episode damaged consumer trust and highlighted the limitations of Apple’s hardware lifecycle.

At the end of the year, Warren Buffett will step down as Berkshire's CEO, and Greg Abel will succeed him. If Buffett gets the investment portfolio to a more balanced position and leaves him with a ton of cash, Abel will be able to run things as he sees fit without needing to undo a bunch of decisions that he may not have agreed with.
