While Nintendo hasn't revealed the Switch 2, CES 2025 saw many companies announce their entry into, or updates for, the handheld PC space. Lenovo announced the Legion Go S as the world's first non-Valve handheld PC, while Acer revealed its ginormous Nitro Blaze 8 and 11 handhelds. Atari also announced its new Gamestation Go handheld console.

Throughout most of last year, it was business as usual in Switch 2 leak land. A few details emerged in reports sourced from behind-closed-doors meetings with Nintendo’s partners, and a pretty complete, if hazy, picture of the console’s form and features was built up: the magnetic Joy-Cons, the AI-assisted upscaling tech, the backward compatibility.

Nintendo’s announcement of the Switch successor is imminent. Just how imminent is anyone’s guess with the company stating that it would reveal info on the console before the end of its fiscal year in March.
