Greg LeMond, one of the newest recipients of the Congressional Gold Medal, was raised near Reno, where he attended Wooster High School.

Legendary cyclist Greg Lemond on Wednesday became the first cyclist and 10th athlete to be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal during a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.

Greg Lemond, the first American cyclist to win the Tour de France received the Congressional Gold Medal on Wednesday. Lemond is the first cyclist to receive the honor which is considered “the highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions by individuals or institutions.
