The New Orleans Saints continue their quarterback conundrum. Veteran QB Derek Carr remains on the roster, but they just drafted rookie Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. There has been tons of mystery surrounding Carr this offseason.

Some new surprising details have emerged on the relationship between Derek Carr and New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore following the quarterback’s stunning retirement. On Saturday morning, Derek Carr announced that he was retiring from football because of his nagging shoulder injury.

The Saints aren't the only team with uncertainty at quarterback, though. The Pittsburgh Steelers await Aaron Rodgers' decision on whether he will continue to play or retire. The Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts have wide-open quarterback competitions.
