CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – ESPN’s Shams Charania is reporting that New Orleans Pelicans forward Javonte Green has agreed to a contract buyout and intends to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers upon clearing waivers. Green added additional depth at the wing position for Cleveland, which also added De’Andre Hunter prior to the NBA trade deadline.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are signing a former rival on the Boston Celtics via the buyout market, according to a report this week.
Boston already bolstered their own depth at the wing by bringing aboard Torrey Craig after he was waived by the Bulls earlier this month. The Cavs currently hold a 5.5 game lead over the Celtics in the East standings entering the second half of the season.
