PHILADELPHIA -- Rasmus Ristolainen scored with 26 seconds remaining in overtime and the Philadelphia Flyers extended their point streak to six games with a 2-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday.
Ristolainen tapped a loose puck just across the goal line with 4:34 remaining in overtime. Detroit defenseman Moritz Seider tried to clear the puck from in front of the goal but happened to pin it against the post, allowing Ristolainen to have the easy tap-in.
Joel Farabee’s goal at 5:21 of the second period was the only scoring through two periods. He fired in a backhand shot from the slot as the Red Wings were scrambling in their zone. The Flyers had the game’s only power play and didn’t convert.
