Kelly Campbell is out as head of Peacock. She bid her staff goodbye in an email on Thursday, January 9, 2025. IndieWire has obtained that email; it is posted in its entirety below. Campbell told employees she is “stepping down” and that NBCUniversal streaming boss Matt Strauss will announce a “new structure” in “the coming weeks.”
Campbell joined Peacock in 2021 after several years at Hulu. She has presided over a period of growth at the NBCU streamer, which boasts 36 million subscribers as of the third quarter of 2024 and has narrowed its losses in the past year. Peacock also won praise for its blanket coverage of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
