TAMPA -- Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guentzel each had a goal and two assists for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 5-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Amalie Arena on Saturday. Kucherov, who recorded his 600th NHL assist in the second period, extended his point streak to eight games (four goals, 10 assists).
The Detroit Red Wings need another long winning streak if they are to make headway in the playoff race. They had a promising outing on Thursday with a 4-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens and will try to maintain the positive vibes going when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night.
The Red Wings got on the scoreboard with a power-play one-timer from Lucas Raymond late in period two. Raddysh’s power-play goal from the top of the setup extended the Lightning lead on a play in which Kucherov earned his 600th NHL assist.
