A woman was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery after allegedly assaulting two Alaska Airlines flight attendants.

The pilot of a small single-engine plane is in the hospital after making an emergency landing in a field on Friday morning.

PHOENIX — A medical helicopter had to make an emergency landing at a Phoenix-area park early Tuesday morning. Phoenix Fire Department officials say crews were dispatched around 4 a.m. to the Paradise Valley Skate Park near 40th Street and Grovers Avenue for reports of a helicopter that needed to land in the area.

The original flight had been slated to depart Barcelona at 2:00 p.m. local time and arrive in Abuja at 7 p.m., but takeoff was postponed until 2:50 p.m. with touchdown projected for 5:45 p.m. Nigerian time.

Some Wizz Air flight passengers reported hearing an 'explosion' on the aircraft while traveling from Egypt to Rome on Tuesday, Oct. 14; the airline denies smoke or fire on board, and is investigating.
