Tottenham manager Thomas Frank says Bryan Mbeumo ‘deserves’ his £71 million move to Manchester United this summer. After weeks of negotiations, United have finally agreed a £71m deal with Brentford for Mbeumo. United have agreed a fee of £65m to be paid up front to Brentford, with a further £6m in add-ons.

A source who has dealt with Mbeumo billed him as a "terrific guy and a proper professional". One of his close relatives was already a United fan, which helped matters despite Mbeumo's close relationship with Thomas Frank, who lobbied new club Tottenham to move for him.
