Communities across Scotland fell silent in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in conflicts across the world. In Edinburgh, First Minister John Swinney was joined by veterans and the city’s lord provost in laying a wreath at the stone of remembrance outside the city chambers.

Two Army veterans will take their place among thousands marching in front of the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
