Thousands of Lehigh Valley residents are without power Friday afternoon as winds picked up, downing trees and power lines. An outage even closed Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem.
The National Weather Service reported nearly 7,000 total outages as of 6:30 a.m. Friday, with winds reaching up to 40 mph and potential gusts approaching 60 mph. The severe weather system brought a low-topped convective line moving through the state between 8 and 11 a.m., creating dangerous wind conditions.
