The first reinforcement for the Twins’ rotation has arrived. Right-hander Mick Abel, acquired from the Phillies in the Jhoan Duran trade, joined the club in Chicago on Friday and he was officially recalled on Saturday,

Abel allowed six earned runs and seven hits in three innings with two walks and two strikeouts in a 7-3 loss to the White Sox.

CHICAGO — Mick Abel’s first pitch to Colson Montgomery missed badly, well wide of the zone. His second pitch to the Chicago White Sox shortstop was right over the heart of the zone, and Montgomery didn’t miss it, bashing a pitch out to right field and bringing home himself and three of his teammates in the process.
