Prominent political figures as well as Hollywood stars have reacted with disgust over the news that 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' will end its run in 2026.
CBS is canceling “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” next May, shuttering a decades-old TV institution and removing from air one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent late night critics.
Trump denied the report. “I never wrote a picture in my life,” he told the newspaper. “I don’t draw pictures of women.” Trump later confirmed his plans to seek legal action against the newspaper; its parent company, News Corp.; and Rupert Murdoch, the organization’s head.
Later, Schiff did address CBS’ decision to cancel Late Show, writing on X, “Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better.”
