Dozens of people were killed in Gaza, officials said Saturday, as protestors in Israel demand an end to the war in the Palestinian enclave and release of the remaining Hamas-held hostages.

The drums of war are pounding on the doorstep of Gaza City. Residents of the largest city in northern Gaza, packed with locals and refugees, fear the hours are ticking down before a looming Israeli offensive.

The White House has not commented on a report finding famine in Gaza. Analysts say that absent U.S. pressure, Israel is unlikely to change course.

"An entire population is being pushed into starvation, destitution, and death,” said Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister.

Famine has been determined in Gaza Governorate, where Gaza City is located, according to a warning issued Friday by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification.
