The progressive icon delivered a damning speech Saturday in Washington, D.C. as part the nationwide "No Kings" protests against President Donald Trump.
On Monday’s (October 20) edition of The View, the cohosts were joined by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to talk about a wide range of issues, including the weekend’s massive “No Kings” protests around the country, Donald Trump ‘s reaction to them, and, of course, the still-looming government shutdown.
“The ironic part about Republicans complaining that he is being dubbed a king is that in their minds, he has already surpassed that title anyway and moved on to a much higher calling,” Stewart says. “He’s not a king. He’s a deity, sent by God to bring peace to all of mankind, a Jesus-like figure. I mean, I get it. There is a lot of crossover.”
