Stroman has not pitched since the Yankees’ April 11 game against the San Francisco Giants, when he gave up five runs in a single inning. He was placed on the 15-day injured list shortly after, with manager Boone initially hopeful it would be a brief stint.

However, the story of the game was a horrific injury to Oswaldo Cabrera. In the top of the ninth, Cabrera scored via an Aaron Judge sacrifice fly, but his ankle went the wrong way and he writhed in pain at home plate.

Manager Aaron Boone said Marcus Stroman still had "discomfort" in his knee after throwing a live batting practice session and will be reevaluated.
