Red Sox star Rafael Devers made waves after publicly admonishing Boston's front office for asking him to play first base after Triston Casas' season-ending injury. Red Sox owner John Henry even flew out to Kansas City to speak with Devers about his dissatisfaction in an unorthodox move.

The least-complicated way would be for Rafael Devers to come to the conclusion that $313.5 million brought the Red Sox the right to tell him to move to first base.

Devers, the Boston Red Sox’s most expensive player and best hitter, has been vocal in expressing his unhappiness with moving off of third base, where he was a subpar defender, this offseason.
