Blade's new “helicopters” bringing New York City’s superrich to the Hamptons and beyond are almost completely silent, all-electric, and look straight out of a sci-fi blockbuster.

Joby Aviation, which is developing electric aircraft, will acquire the passenger business of Blade, a New York helicopter operator, for $125 million.
