Indiana Fever icon Caitlin Clark has a hilariously low bar set for herself when competing at an LPGA Pro-Am event on Wednesday.

Before playing in this week’s LPGA Pro-Am in Florida, Caitlin Clark explained how she pursued basketball instead of other sports, like golf.

Clark will be playing the front nine with Nelly Korda, the No. 1 player in the women's ranking ... WNBA playoffs that she planned to play golf until it became too cold in Indiana, adding with a smile, “Become a professional golfer.”

The penultimate event of the 2024 LPGA Tour season and hosted by World Golf and LPGA Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam, The ANNIKA will take place at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla., where the field will compete for a share of the $3.25 million purse, one of the largest on the LPGA Tour.

Award-winning golf reporter Beth Ann Nichols agrees with this notion. In fact, the veteran journalist issued a blunt message to anyone who isn't too happy to see Clark on the golf course. "Absolutely," Nichols said. "I can't remember a time I was this excited for a Pro-Am. I plan to be out there at 6 a.m. to watch the warm-up session."

On Wednesday, Clark will take part in The Annika pro-am, playing the first nine with current world No. 1 Nelly Korda and back nine with tournament namesake Annika Sorenstam – two players who can teach Clark a lot about power and finesse on the links.
