Unnamed storm brings a foot of rain to parts of North Carolina, heads north
Hard rain of 1 foot and more inundated the southeastern coast of North Carolina on Monday as a storm with no name moved ashore and aimed for the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. The National Hurricane Center calls it Potential T ropical C yclone 8 and said in forecast updates that the front will weaken as it travels over terrain overnight.
