Golden Retrievers are often hailed as the “ideal family dog.” They’re friendly, loyal, and generally eager to please. However, dog owners with the same breed will tell you that the pups also have a stubborn streak that pops up in the most unexpected moments.

Case in point, Winston the Golden Retriever clearly has a strong paternal instinct over his human baby brother and felt he needed to show his mom a few pointers on child care. In the TikTok from @winston.goldenpup, the gorgeous Golden was up and at 'em early and 'narrated' his everyday tasks in his self-appointed parental role.

The pups' owner, Mae, told Newsweek: "I was so surprised that they started howling because goldens aren't known to be howlers."
