The league says they'll continue to work with local, state and federal agencies to solidify security plans ahead of the Super Bowl on Feb. 9.

The Chiefs are hoping to return to the Super Bowl, which will be held in New Orleans, the site of an attack that killed 10 people on New Year’s Day.

Sugar Bowl organizers announced that the game be rescheduled for Thursday after an attack on New Year's Day in New Orleans left 10 people dead and close to 30 injured. Officials conducted a security sweep of the Superdome, a stadium that will play host to the Super Bowl in a little more than a month.

The New Orleans Police Department revealed Thursday that the annual Sugar Bowl will feature heightened security after a man drove directly into a crowd on Bourbon Street earlier this week, leaving 15 dead.

After the Sugar Bowl was delayed following Wednesday's truck attack in New Orleans, police said they're increasing security around the venue.
