In Batman Forever, Val Kilmer’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader, paired with the film’s flashy style, eccentric villains, and vibrant visuals, mirrors the excesses and boldness of 1990s Hollywood.

But say what you will about Batman Forever, it does a much better job of balancing giving these villains time to shine with exploring Bruce Wayne’s deeper insecurities, turmoil, etc.
