Andie Airfix, the British graphic designer who created iconic album covers for artists including Def Leppard and Metallica has died at age 72.

Howell Davies, 72, started the project when he retired to 'keep busy' but he spent the next 18 years building the 1930s aircraft at his home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
