President Donald Trump announced Friday the 2026 World Cup draw will take place on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC., combining the world’s biggest soccer tournament with the institution he has sought to overhaul.
Trump made the announcement flanked by Vice President J.D. Vance and FIFA president Gianni Infantino in the Oval Office.
Despite Russia being banned from FIFA competitions, Trump said he thinks Putin will attend the 2026 World Cup.
