Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner spoke with Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman and released a statement about why he missed his mandatory preseason medical exam.

As training camps opened across the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights announced that goalie Robin Lehner would not be reporting. The 33-year-old goalie hasn’t played an NHL game since 2022, but all players under contract are expected to report for a physical to verify they are unfit to play.

Goalie Robin Lehner failed to report to the Vegas Golden Knights, forcing the club to weigh its options regarding a player who has not played in more than two years because of a hip injury. Lehner underwent hip surgery in August 2022 and was placed on long-term injured reserve.

Just a couple of days after not reporting to training camp for a mandatory preseason physical, Robin Lehner made a statement about his absence.
