Tottenham Hotspur emerged victorious against Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals taking a one goal advantage to Anfield. Liverpool failed to win for the second game in a row after drawing with Manchester United last weekend in the Premier League.

There is nothing to split Tottenham and Liverpool after the first 45 minutes of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie. Not since winning this competition 16 years ago have Spurs got their hands on some silverware, but Ange Postecoglou will be satisfied after an even opening period in north London.

The Reds look to take a step closer to defending the cup as they travel to north London for today's first leg.
